The US in particular has an extensive coffee menu for every season to meet their customers’ tastes. In the summer, iced lattes and blended iced frappes are sought after, however, during the winter season the gingerbread latte, which contains gingerbread and vanilla combined inan espresso-based latte, topped off with gingerbread whipped cream and pumpkin spice, is a favourite.
For the sweet-toothed French, the Vienois Caffe has a velvety sugary taste, perfect for a touch of indulgence. With a shot of coffee added to milk, the Vienois is very much like a latte but also contains delicious whipped cream and is topped with sprinkled cocoa powder.
In Spain the Cortado is the most popular beverage, which is usually enjoyed at breakfast or just after lunch. Cortado can be served with a single or double shot and a third is milk.
Spanish residents have rituals when drinking the Cortado coffee and demand their individual requirements are met even when in coffee shops. Customers direct the barista and specify whether to use hot frothy milk, cold milk or a mixture of the two and even what kind of cup the drink is served in - tall, short, glass, ceramic - this all adds to the enjoyment for the customer.
